I’ve put a couple of helpful resources at billdevries.com I did this video to capture what I learned by trial and error as a teenager. Since then I taught it to my children after they’ve first had a good foundation of piano lessons – in literally a 15-20 minute session. It’s worked very well for them to be able to become quite versatile at playing by ear. I hope it can be of help to you, too.
