Teaching you basic arpeggios. These may take a lot of practice if you’ve never played them before. Work on these with both hands.
You will definitely need to watch this in high quality to read the annotations added. youtube.com This is the 2nd time I have done this – see au.youtube.com for the other version. I used the same bass and drum track that I had recorded earlier. For an even better version go to www.bushgrafts.com.au – there is also a midi file there. A printable transcription (pdf file) is on my DVD – details on the website.
Introducing a series of tutorials to teach you guys how to play by ear, improv, and many other techniques I like to use. Your piano experience does not have to be classical, just note names and hands together playing.
I really encourage any piano player who is a fan of my Iwillbot account to learn these!!! Why would I want to learn this? You won’t need sheet music for most nonclassical music. You will never have to worry about memorizing music. Improv is impressive, fun, and ORIGINAL from you. Upcoming videos outline… *Could change* 1- Basic Major Chords 2- Basic Minor Chords 3- Arpeggios 4- Chord Variations (Major & Minor) 5- Basic LH / Chord Progressions 6- Be Creative! (RH) 7- Pedaling If you already know these, practice them a lot!
Two For The Road You will definitely need to watch in high quality mode to read the notation and comments au.youtube.com or better still, download the exceelent quality version at www.bushgrafts.com . This is my most ambitious tutorial – in fact I think that I tried to crowd too much into it. Unfortunately, the annotations are small and very diificult to read. The best solution is to download (free) the version at http If this file is too big (nearly 50 Mb), you might consider my DVD (details on the website) which has over 10 hours of instructional video, nearly 180 full transcriptions, backing tracks, 300 or so annotated jazz midi files. With this in your computer’s DVD/CD drive, all of these are instantly available.
I learned the song by ear and now people are requesting a tutorial for how to play it. I noticed that there were some already on youtube but most of them are just normal videos with bird’s eye view angle. But, this is a more slow, in-depth tutorial for those having a hard time trying to learn it. Please excuse any mistakes I may have made because I learned this by ear. It may not be exact. Please subscribe for more! UPDATE: I just found sheetmusic for this song shortly after learning it by ear but it’s a semitone off, so if you want to check that out, here’s the link: www.mediafire.com BIG BANG HARU HARU Big Bang Haru Haru Tutorial How to play Instructions Learn Teach Sheet music Sheetmusic Day by Day Day after Day 빅뱅 – 하루 하루 Help fatfrancis Francis Keyboard Piano Cover Lies Stand Up MV PV Music Video Promo Video Promotional Video
In Part Three of this video lesson, Mike completes his over-view of important principles a play by ear ‘magician’ should know. Mike also demonstrates a number of FUN PianoMagic techniques he wants you to learn; such as arpeggios, Latin rhythm, Boogie Woogie, Walking Bass, Triplet Boogie…even the sound of a locomotive barrelling down the keyboard ‘track’. Although PianoMagic covers far more than can be presented in this three part presentation, the FUN-filled journey of playing piano by ear begins somewhere, and this three part video provides a good introduction.

‘Maiden Voyage’ – jazz piano lesson. You will probably need to view this in high quality to see the transcription – youtube.com A very clear copy of the video, and the annotated midi file, with LH and RH bass/treble split, is available (free) on my website at www.bushgrafts.com This was one of the first compositions that required ‘modal’ playing – it had sections in 4 key centres – each 4 measures long before changing key. Usually the chord quality for each is a dominant 7th with suspended 4th (D7sus,F7sus, Eb7sus, Db7sus) and unusually (for its time) the suspended chords were not resolved in the usual way. At the start, , I used another chord quality on each 4 bar key centre – using Major 7th #5 chords instead.
