It was introduced by Libby Holman in the revue Three’s A Crowd and used as a soundtrack theme in the 1947 film named for the song. “Body and Soul” became a jazz standard, with hundreds of versions performed and recorded by dozens of artists. The most famous of these is the take recorded by Coleman Hawkins and His Orchestra on October 11, 1939 at their only recording session for Bluebird, a subsidiary of RCA Victor. Christmas Song – solo jazz piano. I have blatantly stolen many of 7notemode’s great ideas on his Tutorial videos of this same song uk.youtube.com in this Xmas video lesson – I also did it in the ‘white bread’ C of Key and added a couple of alternative ideas of my own. It is good, I think, to get different perspectives on the same original material – I certainly learned a lot from Tom’s simple-to-follow version. There is a clearer version (and a midi file) that can be downloaded from web.newsguy.com The printable transcription is on my DVD – see www.bushgrafts.com

This way you can simply look at the notes in your computer screen and repeat them in your piano. Each channel can be view it separately or in a single roll. I learn to play many songs with this program; classical, rock, pop, ballad… You can learn complex songs even if you don’t know anything about sheet music. The best software I find to display the notes is Sweet Sixteen MIDI Sequencer (by Roni Music). Although Synthesia is great too but is more like a game than a tool for musicians. To learn more about Synthesia go to www.youtube.com or www.youtube.com Download Sweet Sixteen MIDI Sequencer: www.ronimusic.com If you want to try Synthesia too, go here: www.synthesiagame.com vanBasco’s Karaoke Player is another software that you may want to try for the same purpose: www.vanbasco.com You can find Sweet Sixteen MIDI Sequencer for free in trial version so it will be some limitations and it will popup a continuous reminder to buy the product, but it will work just fine. You can also buy it. Tips for Sweet Sixteen MIDI Sequencer: – To move the keyboard in the grid hold down the shift key and use the left/right arrow button. – To auto-load the custom settings save a file with the name “DEFAULT.SNG”, this file …
